HostGator Pricing (October 2026)

Hatchling is enough for most people, because it allows 10 websites on the cheapest plan, which is rare. Baby makes sense if you want phone support or need more than 10 GB of storage. Business and Pro add weekly backups and domain privacy for the first year, which Hatchling and Baby don’t have.

The renewal is where the plans spread out. Hatchling renews at about three times its 3-year price, and Baby at more than three and a half times. So if you can live with 10 GB, Hatchling stays the cheap plan even after renewal.

Look at the 1-year row. The first year is cheap at $50.52, but after that it renews at $158.27 a year. That is more than paying monthly, which comes to $155.40 a year. When I asked HostGator’s sales chat about the renewal, they quoted me this 1-year price, not the 3-year one. So if you plan to stay, take the 3-year term, and when it ends, renew for 36 months again to get the $10.99 rate.

The cart also adds a Professional Email trial by default. It is free for 1 month and then $2.99 a month. If you don’t need email on your domain, remove it before you pay.

In the older version of this page, HostGator had separate WordPress plans called Starter, Standard and Business, with 1 to 3 sites. Those are gone. Today the WordPress page sells the same plans as the shared hosting page, only with WordPress pre-installed, and there is no Hatchling option on it. You can install WordPress on Hatchling yourself from cPanel, so if you have one or two WordPress sites, Hatchling from the shared page is the cheaper way.

These plans are mainly WooCommerce with paid store plugins already set up. If you only need a simple store, you can install WooCommerce on Baby or Business yourself for less. The Marketplace plan makes sense only if you really sell on Etsy, Amazon or eBay, because it renews at $39.95 a month.

This is the biggest change at HostGator. The old Snappy VPS plans renewed at $79.95 to $149.95 a month. The new NVMe plans renew at $4.95 to $39.53, which puts them in the same range as the cheap cloud VPS companies. Prices also move often: on 13 October the smallest plan was $2.09 renewing at $4.68, and a week later it was $2.24 renewing at $4.95.

There is one important note under the table on HostGator’s page: cPanel and 24/7 priority support are not included with the VPS plans. You get root SSH access and manage the server yourself. That is fine for n8n or an AI agent, but if you want to host websites with cPanel, a VPS is not the cheap shortcut it looks like. For a free test before you pay, see my free VPS trials.

The n8n, Claude Code and OpenClaw servers are not separate products. They are the same Snappy NVMe VPS plans, at the same prices, with the tool installed for you. So the same note applies: no cPanel, and you manage the server yourself. If you can install software on a Linux server, a normal HostGator VPS gives you the same thing.

The server price also doesn’t include the AI model. n8n itself is free to self-host, but if your workflows call ChatGPT or Claude, you pay for that API separately. Claude Code needs your own Claude plan or an Anthropic API key, and OpenClaw needs an API key from a model provider. So for Claude Code and OpenClaw, think of the VPS as the smaller of two bills.

You may also see GatorClaw, a no-code AI agent builder built on OpenClaw. It is sold by Bluehost, HostGator’s sister company under Newfold Digital, and by HostGator Brazil. The launch announcement in April 2026 didn’t give a price.

AI All-Access is different. It is a subscription to AI chat apps, not a server. For $20 a month per user you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok from one dashboard. Bluehost sells the same pack, and its help page says you don’t need a hosting account for it. Neither page states how many messages you get with each model, so ask sales chat about the daily limits before you pay.

Compare this table with the VPS table above. The reseller Snappy 2000 has the same 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 100 GB NVMe as the VPS NVMe 4, but costs $49.99 instead of $4.18. HostGator’s reseller page doesn’t list what the extra money pays for, so ask their sales chat which control panel and support level are part of the reseller plan before you buy. If you only need a server for yourself and you can manage it, the VPS is far cheaper.

The discount on dedicated servers is small, 25% to 27%, so the renewal jump is also small compared to shared hosting. The entry price is higher than in the older version of this page ($89.98), but the server is much bigger: 32 GB RAM and NVMe storage instead of 8 GB RAM and a hard disk.

Professional Email is the email that the cart adds as a 1-month free trial. The cheapest plan is enough for one person. If you already use Gmail and Google Drive for work, Workspace is the easier choice, but it costs more than double at renewal.

A .host domain for $6.99 sounds cheap until it renews at $129.99. The shared plans include a free domain for the first year, and from year two you pay the normal renewal. For a .com that is $22.99 a year, so add it to your hosting cost.

In short, shared hosting got more expensive, mainly at renewal, while VPS got much cheaper. Hatchling now allows 10 websites, which the old Hatchling plan didn’t, so part of the higher price buys more.
